Dear ORPHANetwork Friends,
With deep sadness, we’re writing today to tell you that one of our dear friends and advocates for our children in Nicaragua was lost this past weekend. Christopher Orsini, who was in Nicaragua just a few months ago with his family attending the opening of the Orsini Medical Clinic in Nueva Vida, passed away early on Saturday morning in a tragic accident. Since Chris’s trip to Nicaragua, close to 1,000 children have been into the clinic, and many lives have been changed around Nueva Vida because of Christopher’s courageous work. He will be dearly missed by the ORPHANetwork family and by a world that aches at the loss of it’s heroes.
He and his family worked together to bring a fearless vision to life in Nueva Vida: an ORPHANetwork medical clinic which would serve the highly vulnerable children in our partner communities. We are so grateful that Chris had the opportunity to attend the grand opening and see his vision come to fruition over the past months, and we are forever grateful for his work to make that vision a reality.
Please join us and our partners in Nicaragua in wrapping the Orsini family in prayers of comfort and peace in this time of tragedy.
“Then the King will say…‘come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
– Matthew 25:34-36
In lieu of flowers, the Orsini family has asked that donations be given to ORPHANetwork to further the programs which Chris was passionate about: changing children's lives in Nicaragua. Donations can be sent to the address below, or made online.

Thank you for continuing Chris' legacy of impacting the least of these in places like Nueva Vida, where Chris had personally met and built relationships with many children.
